Dehydrating or drying fruits is a way of conserving them for long periods of time. In Chufamix, we have used them as a flavouring for natural plant milks, but we had never tried to make a juice with them and the truth is that the result surprised us !
Here’s the recipe:
Ingredients:
- 100 grammes of dried mulberries
- 40 grammes of dried pineapple
- 1 litre of water
- A pinch of salt
Preparation
- Put a litre of water in the Chufamix container and insert the filtering glass.
- Put all the dried fruit into the filtering glass and wait 5 minutes until it hydrates slightly.
- Add the salt and whisk for 2 minutes.
- Before pressing the pulp with the mortar, mix it with a wooden spoon. Depending on the fruit that we are using, the filter process could take as long as 5 minutes.
- Finally, put the mortar in and press the pulp to filter the last drops of juice.
- Take the juice and keep it in the fridge.
- We can eat the pulp mixed with yoghurt or between biscuits like a jam.
Advice and alternatives
Grape, orange, pineapple and cucumber juice all pass through the filter easily and do not need to be mixed first with the wooden spoon. However, with some fruits, such as blackberries, pomegranate, avocado…we can spend almost 5 minutes stirring with the wooden spoon before using the mortar. Like seeds, each fruit is also a world of its own!
In any case, we encourage you to try things out and experiment by yourselves.

Until next time!
